Pigs continue to die from illness in Nghi Hung commune (Nghi Loc)
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghi Hung Commune is the third locality to have an outbreak of African swine fever in Nghi Loc District. Worryingly, the situation of pigs dying from the disease is still happening in this locality.
On the morning of May 15, in Hamlet 11, Nghi Hung Commune, another sick pig died at Mr. Dau Sy Dien's family, not far from Mr. Dai's family. The Veterinary Department took samples for testing and proceeded to destroy the dead pig, weighing 51 kg.
Previously, on May 10, at the home of Mr. Nguyen Van Dai, Hamlet 11, Nghi Hung Commune (Nghi Loc), 1 dead pig and 2 sick pigs appeared. The pigs showed symptoms of not eating, high fever, constipation... The local authorities reported to the Veterinary Department to take samples for testing.
Immediately after that, the Veterinary Department of Region III had the results of the sample of the sick and dead pig at Mr. Dai's house tested positive for African swine fever. Nghi Loc district organized the destruction of the pig herd according to the correct procedure with 6 pigs, total weight 165 kg.

Immediately after the outbreak, Nghi Hung commune set up two checkpoints at the two entrances and exits of hamlet 10 to control vehicles entering and exiting the epidemic area, and strictly prohibited the transportation and trading of pigs in the area.
People in Nghi Hung commune are worried about African swine fever spreading to the commune.
In the immediate future, Nghi Loc District Veterinary Station has provided the locality with 26 liters of chemicals to fight the epidemic. The commune has also allocated funds to buy 1.5 tons of lime to sprinkle at checkpoints and livestock areas throughout the area.

Thus, Nghi Hung commune is the third locality in Nghi Loc district to have African swine fever, along with Nghi My and Nghi Trung communes. Nghi Loc district is the second locality in the province with a rapid spread of African swine fever, after Dien Chau district (10 communes).
