Fire still smolders after pine forest fire in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The pine forest fire on the afternoon of June 25 in Nam Xuan commune, Nam Dan district (Nghe An) burned down 1 hectare of 20-year-old pine forest. On the morning of June 26, at some pine tree roots, the embers were still glowing red, with a high risk of forest re-fire.
On the morning of June 26, at the scene of the forest fire in Nam Xuan commune (Nam Dan), according to observations, although the fire was basically controlled at 8:00 p.m. on June 25, however, when the reporter arrived, some tree trunks were still smoldering and emitting smoke. The risk of the fire re-igniting is possible.

Mr. Vo Van Danh - Vice Chairman of Nam Xuan Commune People's Committee said: In the face of the situation that the fire could flare up again after the fire, the locality has directed forestry officers and people of Hamlet 9 to continue to coordinate to extinguish smoldering fires, and at the same time assign people to be on duty 24/7 to promptly report if a forest fire occurs.

Previously, at 2:00 p.m. on June 25, residents of Hamlet 9, Nam Xuan Commune, Nam Dan were shocked to see smoke rising from the pine forest in the Ru Thien area, near the foot of Dai Hue Mountain (located in Hamlet 9).
Mr. Nguyen Dac Hao, head of Hamlet 9, Nam Xuan Commune, said: The fire broke out very suddenly, combined with the intense heat and strong winds, it spread quickly. We immediately informed the local authorities and mobilized all the people in the hamlet to help put out the fire.

Immediately afterwards, the District Police, Forest Rangers, Fire Police and local authorities coordinated to extinguish the fire after 4 hours.
According to preliminary statistics from local authorities, nearly 1 hectare of pine forest over 20 years old, during the harvest season, was burned down.
