MC Phan Anh temporarily stops hosting the show

Determined to temporarily stop his favorite shows, the handsome MC of Vietnamese television wants to spend more time with his family.

Confessing that he is limiting work-related activities during a music night in Hanoi, Phan Anh shared about this unexpected decision.

- Why did you decide to stop at this point?

- Simply because I want to spend more time with my family. I want to take a break to reflect on myself, update my knowledge, get closer to my business and join a startup model with friends.

Besides, I think the audience also needs something new. If I don't participate, it means that other colleagues, especially young people, will have more opportunities. Therefore, I will take a break for about 6 months.

- So when you come back, what kind of Phan Anh will you be? Will it be different from now?

- I'm sure it's still me. People say "mountains and rivers change easily, but nature is hard to change", in a short time, how can I change completely.

I also think that life does not need many changes or mutations. I just hope that life can be peaceful and fulfilling like this.

- Have you ever wanted to do a talk show to express and prove yourself more?

- Yes. I really like it, but not to show off or prove myself. I want to have frank discussions about current and prominent social issues. However, that requires the person doing it to spend a lot of time updating knowledge every day, as well as following the flow of events to be able to make an attractive program. It also needs the support of a good team as well as leaders who are not afraid to take risks.

- Do you have plans for such projects?

- Just in my head because I have so much work to do.

Currently, I want to have good health, improve my knowledge, and have time for my family, especially my children. I increasingly see that spending time, taking care of, and raising children is extremely important. Children's childhood passes by every day, and if we are too busy indulging in our own interests and passions, we will miss out on the foundational moments of their memories. So I see that I need to prioritize my children and my family.

When I focused too much on work, I forgot that my partner also needed time to talk and share every day. This is the time for me to look back at my relationships and see if there is anything inappropriate that needs to be fixed.

Stop but actually I still have a busy life, but busy for family, for myself, not for work like before.

- Of all the programs you have done, which one do you like best?

- I have to talk about Sao online. That was my passion and concern more than 10 years ago. At that time, Sao online was like a breath of fresh air, contributing to creating a more youthful and dynamic image for the TV channel. I think, Sao online has made talk shows more open and closer, no longer the pattern of interviewer and interviewee but actually conversations.

Another memorable program for me is Vietnam Idol. Because it is the program that brought me to the widest audience. With Vietnam Idol, I was able to express my personality and personal views to the audience because I played the role of a companion and friend of the contestants, so I could criticize the judges.

-So which program do you want to participate in the most?

- It's The Amazing Race. Because I love to travel, take part in adventurous and exploratory journeys. Programs like The Amazing Race will give me a lot of experiences.

The image of the host of the Amazing Race in foreign versions made me very eager to stand in that position. It has a bit of power, a bit of worldliness, and freedom. I loved that image so I immediately accepted last year.

I really enjoyed filming, but due to the limited time, the broadcast content was not as expected. For each finishing part, I was enthusiastic, focused on exchanging stories to bring emotions to the audience, but when on screen, people only saw mainly "congratulations, you are the second finishing team..." so I was quite upset.

- Do you feel like you don't fit the image of a worldly person? Are audiences used to seeing a gentle, elegant Phan Anh?

- Actually, that's what people see me as on stage, but in real life, I'm casual, rarely dressed seriously. With The Amazing Race last year, I also wanted to create a dusty style, but the producer wanted a more neat image.

- If you could choose 3 words to describe your hosting style, what would you say?

- Be concise, sincere, and reasonable. Reasonable because I always consider my ego with the people I work with such as artists, judges, people behind the camera such as directors, producers, etc. Sometimes those are quite conflicting desires and I have to find a harmonious solution for everyone. That is very difficult when making a program.

- In your career, do you have any MC role models?

- I don't idolize anyone, only people I admire, like Mr. Lai Van Sam, Ms. Diem Quynh, Ms. Ta Bich Loan. They are people from the previous generation whose speaking and improvisational talents I still admire.

But now, I admire Tran Thanh. He is a versatile artist, can use his sense of humor and many skills to make his hosting colorful./.
