Mother died of cancer, poor female student dreams of becoming a good doctor

During her studies, Do Thi Minh Hang was a very persistent and diligent person. Therefore, throughout her 12 years of study, she was always an excellent student and won first prize in the Provincial Biology Competition in 11th grade. Notably, Hang recently achieved 27.4 points in block B (Math 9.4, Chemistry 8.5 and Chemistry 9.5 points).

With this score, Hang was officially admitted to Hanoi Medical University. From here, the door to her future to pursue her dream is gradually opening wide.

Hang is a girl with a bright face, exuding intelligence. If you don't meet or talk to her, few people would know that she is living in difficult circumstances and has gone through many upheavals in life.

In the year of the 10th grade entrance exam, Hang passed the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, but at that time her mother was suffering from cancer, so the whole family devoted all their efforts and money to treatment, so she had to put aside her dream of studying at the province's specialized school.

Two years ago, Hang suffered a great mental shock when she was no longer embraced and protected by her mother. Witnessing the pain of her late mother and feeling sorry for her father who was suffering from intercostal neuralgia, she tried even harder to become a doctor who had all the qualities of heart, talent, and virtue.

Sharing about her dream, Hang said: Ever since I was little, I have understood that medicine is a noble profession and admired good doctors because they saved many patients from danger. Therefore, I really hope that in the future I will carry out this sacred mission to help people and this is also the wish of my whole family.

In addition to following the curriculum in class, I also buy more reference books in natural subjects for self-study. In particular, Hang joins many useful study groups on Facebook to exchange lessons with friends and teachers. Every day, in addition to completing exercises in class, in advanced books, I choose from 5 to 10 exercises in groups in different sets of questions to do. For advanced exercises, I practice logical thinking, find directions for solutions.

Of the 3 subjects in block B, besides her two strong subjects, Math and Biology, Chemistry is the subject that makes Hang the least confident. According to her, Chemistry is difficult and she has had a poor foundation since middle school, so she has a lower starting point than other students.

To solve this subject requires a solid grasp of the theory, so I tried to read many books and ask my teachers for extra lessons during recess or holidays. There were lessons that I spent 10-15 minutes to complete, but there were also lessons with such a high level of difficulty that it took me a whole day to solve. Thanks to that, in the 2019 High School Exam, my Chemistry score was 8.5 points, which was also the score that Hang expected for this subject.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Y - Head teacher of class 12B, Quynh Luu 1 High School said: "Hang is very intelligent, her self-study ability is good. Especially her enthusiasm and seriousness in studying in all subjects; she has the ability to argue very tightly".

The door to the future has truly welcomed Hang, but to become a good doctor as she wished, she needs a large amount of tuition, while her father is in poor health and has no stable job. Moreover, because they do not have the means to repair the dilapidated house, Hang's whole family is living in the house her uncle left behind.

Therefore, now entering the time to enroll in school, I am still very worried about the expenses. With this situation, I hope the community will join hands to help Do Thi Minh Hang achieve her dream of becoming a good doctor to treat and save people.
