Expand the object of importing money printing machines

Currently, according to Circular 18/2014/TT-NHNN, the State Bank designates money printing and minting establishments as enterprises under the State Bank to directly import items related to money printing and minting.

The State Bank has just sought opinions on the draft amendment to the circular.Circular No. 18/2014 guides the import of goods under the specialized management of this agency. Accordingly, toTo meet the demand for printing money, the State Bank has a policy to expand the scope of imported goods for printing and minting money.

According to current regulations, only enterprises under the State Bank are designated to directly import items for printing and minting money. Therefore, this draft proposes to expand the scope of subjects to ensure legal basis for enterprises.

The goods imported by enterprises include: metal blanks used for casting and stamping metal money; anti-counterfeit blanks used for money, payment checks and other types of stamps and valuable papers issued and managed by the banking sector; anti-counterfeit blank presses; money printing machines; money printing paper; money printing ink, etc.
