A middle school student was making a homemade gun when the gun accidentally exploded, killing the victim.
Two days ago, Thai Viet Sy (14 years old, Tam Dan commune, Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam) used self-made materials, includingExhaust valve, barrel, trigger, firing pin from plastic pipe and soda bottle to make a gun.
While Sy was sitting in the yard making a gun, the device exploded, sending bullets flying into his body.

Hearing the explosion, Sy's father ran out and saw his injured son and rushed him to the emergency room.However, due to severe injuries, Sy died early the next morning.
Recently, Quang Nam provincial authorities have urged people to hand over weapons and explosives and not make homemade guns. The police have recovered a large number of homemade guns and discovered and handled many cases of buying, selling, and making homemade guns in the area.
