Hail poured down on many communes of Nghe An border district.

According to local people in Huoi Tu, Muong Long, Bao Thang, Pha Danh communes... in Ky Son, at around 7:00 p.m. on March 18, there was quite a large hailstorm in the area.

People in Huoi Tu commune shared that this was the biggest and longest hailstorm in the past 10 years.

Residents of Trung Tam village, Huoi Tu commune said that the hailstorm that occurred in some villages in Huoi Tu lasted for about 40 minutes, pouring down a large amount of hailstones. The average diameter of hailstones is about 1-2cm.

Mr. Ha Ba Ly - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Huoi Tu commune said that the hailstorm caused holes in some roofs of houses, and the commune has not yet recorded the impact on crops and trees. Because the rain happened at the end of the day, when it was already dark.

After the hail ended, people in Huoi Tu swept up and collected the hailstones to prevent people and vehicles from slipping on the road.

In Muong Long commune, the commune People's Committee officials also confirmed that there was hail in the area at the end of the day. However, in Muong Long, the hailstones were quite small, so they melted quite quickly when they fell to the ground.

At the same time, in Bao Thang commune, there was also hail with quite large hailstones. Some hailstones were about 4cm in diameter.
