(Baonghean.vn) - The heavy rain that lasted from 8am to 10am this morning (March 4) caused over 35 hectares of rice in Quynh Di ward, Hoang Mai town to be flooded.

The flooded rice fields are all in Si Tan block, Quynh Di ward. According to observations, some areas have been flooded to the top of the rice, people even brought octagonal nets to the rice fields to catch fish. Mr. Tran Van Tien in Si Tan block shared: There needs to be a solution to drain the water in time this afternoon, if it is left flooded overnight, many areas will be affected, affecting the growth and yield of rice.

Mr. Hoang Ngoc Thuy - Head of the Economic Department of Hoang Mai town said: The cause of flooding is due to heavy rain, especially in this area due to the construction of some construction items of the administrative area of ​​Hoang Mai town, so the water is blocked, the water cannot drain. We will have a plan to drain the water this afternoon to minimize damage to rice due to flooding.
