Heavy rains in recent days have damaged hundreds of hectares of vegetables in the coastal areas of Quynh Luu.submerged in water
At the vegetable field of Quynh Minh commune, heavy rainhas flooded many vegetable fields of the people. Although it is raining, people still go to the fields to harvest vegetables to limit damage when the sun comes out; but in deeper fields, the water has not been able to recede, people can only "regretfully" watch the vegetables flooded because they cannot save them.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a resident of Quynh Minh commune, said: "Heavy rain in the past 2 days has damaged my family's 2 sao of green onions.flooded. It is still raining heavily, the drainage canals are overflowing and flooded, making it difficult to drain the water. All the spring onions will be damaged when the sun comes out. Currently, the price of onions is high, so the flooding has caused the family to lose tens of millions of dong.

According to statistics from vegetable growing communes in the areaQuynh Luu districtHeavy rains lasting for 3 days from (7-9/9) flooded more than 250 hectares of vegetables; of which Quynh Luong was affected 50 hectares, Quynh Minh more than 167 hectares. In Quynh Minh commune alone, about 100 hectares of vegetables of the people are unable to recover because the area is located in a low-lying area.
Mr. Tran Minh Loi - an agricultural officer of Quynh Minh commune said: The whole commune has 167 hectares of vegetable area, of which about 60% is for growing green onions. Heavy rains in the past few days have flooded the entire vegetable area, of which nearly 100 hectares cannot be restored. Currently, the main canal system and branch canals in the area are all concreted, meeting about 60% of the area. However, there are still some earthen canals in the branch canals, so in the rainy season it will be difficult to drain water in the fields.
InHoang Mai townIn recent days, there has been prolonged heavy rain causing flooding, damaging many rice and vegetable areas of farmers.
