Heavy rain caused many bridges in Thanh Chuong to be flooded, water flowed rapidly
Due to the influence of storm No. 4, on September 19 and 20, there was heavy rain in Nghe An, causing many overflow bridges in Thanh Chuong district to be flooded, with strong water currents posing a danger to passing vehicles.

On the morning of September 20, the spillway bridge over the Giang River into Suong hamlet, Thanh Duc commune was deeply flooded, with strong currents. Immediately, the Thanh Duc commune authorities dispatched forces to block the bridge, erected barriers at both ends, and widely announced to the people not to cross the spillway bridge at this time.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Vinh - Chairman of Thanh Duc Commune People's Committee said: "Currently, the commune has sent local military forces to guard the spillway bridge, on duty to prevent people from crossing when it is flooded. The bridge connects the residential area to the production area, normally, the flow of people and vehicles through here is not much, only about 100 workers of the rubber plantation in it.

As for the children of students in the rubber plantation workers' dormitory, the commune recommends that they stay with relatives and not pick them up and drop them off at this time to ensure safety.
Currently, the commune has also established inspection teams at key points prone to flooding and landslides in the area to have timely response plans.
In Thanh My commune, some low-lying roads were also partially flooded, specifically in residential areas: Khe Tro, Khe Mo, Khe Gio, Khe Lau. Although the roads were not deeply flooded, the water flowed rapidly, and if people and vehicles were not careful, accidents could easily occur.

The commune authorities have also advised and reminded people to limit travel to the above areas. At the same time, they have assigned forces to be on duty at flooded areas to prevent serious incidents from occurring.
In Ngoc Lam commune, it has been raining continuously since last night, and the water in the streams and creeks has risen quickly and high. Specifically, the overflow bridges and low bridges have overflowed, including: the bridge in front of the Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station gate (the road to production, the waterfall), the low bridge in Tan Lam village (old Kim Lien village), the low bridge in Ma village (the turnoff to Thanh Son commune), the bridge at the 3-way intersection of the welcome gate, Khe Su bridge, 2 overflow bridges outside Tan Tien village, Nhan Mai bridge (Tan Ngoc).

Mr. Luong Van Nhat - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ngoc Lam commune said: "After checking and grasping the situation, this morning, the commune government held an urgent meeting and established 7 working groups to coordinate with forces directly on duty, block low bridges, overflow bridges with flooded water, ready to support people in any bad situation;
Widely announce information on the loudspeaker system about the storm situation; Let students stay home after school this morning, and at the same time, arrange forces to take them home safely; Propagate to all people not to be subjective, not to collect firewood or fish along streams.

However, some households are still subjective and negligent in ensuring their safety, still deliberately fishing and collecting firewood in streams when it is raining heavily. The commune authorities must be on duty, following along the streams to remind them."
Faced with complicated weather developments, the Thanh Chuong District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control has directed localities to proactively review areas at risk of incidents in the area, prepare forces, means, and materials to respond and summarize damage, report to competent authorities according to regulations; regularly update information to respond to the situation.

Strengthen propaganda work to the people not to be subjective, absolutely do not go through spillways when the water level is above the safe level.
