(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 12, Vinh City People's Committee held a conference to summarize the work of ensuring traffic order, urban order, environmental sanitation - Clearing traffic safety corridors according to Plan 472 of the Provincial People's Committee - Natural disaster prevention, search and rescue in 2016 and deploying tasks in 2017.

In 2016, the situation of traffic safety, urban traffic, and environmental sanitation in Vinh City had some remarkable changes. Traffic accidents decreased in all 3 criteria (the whole year there were 81 cases, killing 33 people and injuring 67 people); Encroachment on sidewalks for business purposes is still common but the scale has been reduced; Environmental sanitation work is regularly concerned.

In addition to the remarkable results, speaking at the conference, delegates frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations and proposed solutions for 2017 and the following years such as: Serious traffic congestion at some intersections, in front of many schools; There are still many 3-wheeled and 4-wheeled tractors and homemade vehicles; The work of clearing traffic safety corridors has not gone hand in hand with the work of re-encroachment; The situation of dumping household waste and construction waste indiscriminately, not on time and in the right place; There are still illegal construction works, not ensuring safety, leading to unfortunate consequences...
