In 2019, Party rectification work sets a higher task.
2019 is an important year for Party rectification work with higher requirements and tasks. The Central Inspection Commission continues to advise the Politburo and the Secretariat to propose major inspection and supervision programs and carry out other important tasks.
The work of inspection, supervision and Party disciplinary action plays an extremely important role in detecting and handling violations and shortcomings of cadres, Party members and Party organizations, in order to build a clean and strong Party. In fact, the results achieved in 2018 have partly demonstrated this.
Mr. Cao Van Thong - Member of the Central Inspection Commission (CCIC) answered an interview about the results in the work of inspection, supervision and Party discipline.
At the 32nd Session - the most recent session, the Central Inspection Commission considered disciplining many high-ranking officials, typically Mr. Tat Thanh Cang. |
PV:Looking back over the past year, the work of inspection, supervision and enforcement of Party discipline has undergone many innovations and achieved many remarkable results. What key points has the Central Inspection Commission focused on to achieve such results, sir?
Mr. Cao Van Thong: In 2018, the Central Inspection Commission coordinated with agencies and advisors of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat to develop the 2018 inspection program. Selecting appropriate inspection contents and objects, focusing on inspecting party organizations and party members with signs of violations. And the inspection was also comprehensive in all areas, including economics, society, judiciary, and internal affairs.
The Central Inspection Commission has inspected and concluded many cases, typically the inspection of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province... showing signs of leaders violating the law, taking advantage of others, and seeking favors. On the other hand, the leader has also loosened his leadership role and shown signs of power manipulation. Lack of responsibility and control allows subordinates to make mistakes.
There are serious, long-standing violations that were not discovered and only when there was a request from the superiors to conduct inspections, checks, and investigations, were those violations clarified. This is a very sad thing. Among them, some Party officials with positions and power, some Central Party Committee members, former Central Party Committee members, Politburo members, many cases have been investigated according to the provisions of the law.
All demonstrated political determination in building and rectifying the Party and achieving important results as in the past.
PV:According to you, what role does Regulation No. 08 on the exemplary responsibility of cadres and party members play in improving the effectiveness of the Party's inspection and supervision work?
Mr. Cao Van Thong: The regulations issued by the Party require all Party members and cadres to strictly comply with and implement, but to put them into practice, Party committees and organizations at all levels must organize research, thoroughly understand, have plans and action programs, and regularly criticize and self-criticize.
High-ranking comrades such as Politburo members and Secretariat members who have taken the lead in setting an example will be shining examples for their subordinates to follow. Party committees and organizations at all levels still need to have plans to monitor and inspect the implementation of regulations on exemplary responsibility for senior officials.
Those regulations need to be specified in the working regulations and Party activities of Party committees at all levels, standing committees of Party committees or Party organizations where comrades are members participating in activities to conduct criticism and self-criticism there.
Only when measures are taken to promote the role of political organizations, Party organizations, people and the press can the regulation truly come into effect, contributing to Party rectification, building a clean and strong Party, so that the Party is truly ethical and civilized. The more the leader sets an example, the more subordinates will follow, contributing to the work of Party building and rectification in the current period and in the future.
PV:In 2019, what major directions did the Central Inspection Commission set for the Party's inspection and supervision work?
Mr. Cao Van Thong: 2019 is an important year for party rectification work with higher requirements and tasks. The Central Inspection Commission continues to advise the Politburo and the Secretariat to propose major inspection and supervision programs and carry out other important tasks.
The Central Inspection Commission also advised the Central Executive Committee to summarize 10 years of implementing Resolution 5 of the 10th Party Central Committee on strengthening the Party's inspection and supervision work, on that basis proposing policies and viewpoints on inspection and supervision work in the coming time.
The Central Inspection Commission also takes care of training and fostering to improve the qualifications and expertise of cadres, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation. Because violations by party organizations and party members are increasingly complex and sophisticated, inspection cadres must have high courage, political views and fighting spirit, in order to perform well the assigned tasks, actively contribute to the Party building and rectification, and make an important contribution to the fight against corruption and negative group interests.
PV:Thank you sir.
