Improving the effectiveness of mass mobilization work in ethnic minority areas

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 22, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee had a working session with the leaders of Tuong Duong district on mass mobilization work in ethnic minority areas.

Attending the meeting were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Le Ba Hung - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Pham Trong Hoang - Secretary of Tuong Duong District Party Committee.

Overview of the working session.

Tuong Duong is a mountainous district located in the West of Nghe An, the proportion of ethnic minorities in the area accounts for 90%, mainly Thai, Mong, Tay Poong, O Du, Kho Mu ethnic groups.

At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the mass mobilization work for ethnic minorities in Tuong Duong district in the past time. Accordingly, the mass mobilization work in the area has been innovated towards being close to the people and the grassroots.

The Party Committee, government and mass organizations at all levels in the area have done a good job of mobilizing people to comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws, helping each other to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, restructure the economy, participate in cultural development, and maintain security and order at the grassroots level.

Focus on government mass mobilization work, increase contact and dialogue with organizations and people of all walks of life; promptly grasp the situation, thoughts and aspirations of the people, promptly handle many pressing issues arising at the grassroots level.

Comrade Le Ba Hung - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission spoke at the meeting.

The emulation movement of "skillful mass mobilization" achieved many positive results. By the end of 2015, there were 25 skillful mass mobilization models in various fields, and 4 bright spots were established in implementing grassroots democracy regulations.

At the meeting, the two sides also frankly pointed out the limitations and shortcomings and analyzed the causes; thereby providing lessons learned and solutions to improve the effectiveness of mass mobilization work for ethnic minorities in the coming time.
