Raising responsibility for preventing social evils

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 27, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee, the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee held a meeting to review a number of reports that will be presented at the upcoming 15th session of the Provincial People's Council.

Also attending the meeting were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Xuan Dai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Cao Thi Hien - Director of the Department of Home Affairs; and representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee chaired the inspection.

Reviewing the report on the situation and results of crime and social evil prevention and control in 2015, members of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee basically agreed with the contents presented by the Provincial Police. In 2015, all levels and sectors coordinated to strengthen the fight against all types of crime and social evils very effectively; well protected the Party Congresses at all levels.

Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee clarified a number of security issues in special areas that the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee is concerned about.

In particular, complex cases were investigated, clarified and promptly handled. However, some opinions said that the report did not cover the general situation and results of the sectors.

It is necessary to add to the report on the task of protecting security for Party Congresses at all levels in the province; clarify the causes of the increase in crimes of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods; set out the responsibilities of Party committees and authorities in the management and organization of rehabilitation for drug addicts and the prevention of gambling, especially among cadres, Party members and civil servants.

Representative of Provincial Police reported on the situation and results of crime prevention and social evils in the province in 2015.

Regarding the report on the implementation of traffic safety work in 2015, the concern of the members of the Legal Committee was that in 2015, the province implemented many drastic and strong solutions, but the traffic accident situation has not really decreased compared to the previous year.

Comrade Nguyen Hong Ky - Director of the Department of Transport reported on the work of ensuring traffic order and safety in 2015 in the province.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Lam emphasized that there needs to be more drastic solutions, including continuing to strengthen propaganda work, raising awareness and compliance with traffic laws among all classes of people, thereby limiting traffic accidents.

Along with that, pay attention to ensuring good traffic infrastructure and traffic safety corridors; continue to fight against oversized and overloaded vehicles to ensure traffic safety. Research to have resources to invest in and upgrade district-level roads; clarify the responsibility of local authorities in ensuring traffic order and safety in each locality.

Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Home Affairs reported on administrative reform work in 2015 and tasks in 2016.

The Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee also reviewed the report on administrative reform and civil judgment enforcement in 2015 and tasks in 2016.
