Russia is developing a new type of pistol
ORSIS weapons development company general director Valery Novoselov said that Russia is designing and manufacturing a gun similar to the Glock pistol.
The new 9x19 caliber polymer pistol will have technical characteristics comparable to models of famous brands but will cost half as much.
“Hopefully, by 2021 we will have a prototype of the gun. The development of this gun took into account the experience of operating the Glock and SIG Sauer pistols. The prototype is called ORSIS S1. We hope to create a product with a similar weight (650 grams without the magazine) and combat characteristics to the fifth-generation Glock pistol,” Novoselov said as quoted by Sputnik. According to him, the main advantage of the Russian-made model will be its price.

If the retail price of a Glock pistol in Russia is up to $2,700 without additional accessories, then an ORSIS pistol with similar features will cost around $1,350.
Glock is a line of pistols manufactured by the Austrian company Glock GmbH.Pistols of this brand are used in more than 30 countries.
