Russia to extend food embargo in retaliation against the West
Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev has ordered the preparation of a proposal to the President to extend Russia's counter-reaction to Western sanctions until the end of 2017.

"I have instructed to prepare a proposal to extend the response not just for one year, but until the end of 2017. A proposal to the President will be prepared accordingly and the necessary decisions will be drawn up for the government decree," Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev said.
Mr Medvedev added that this way, Russian agricultural businesses would have "more long-term investment plans, which agricultural companies have repeatedly asked for".
