(Baonghean.vn) - In the last 6 months of 2022, Nghe An Health sector will focus on disease prevention and control, early detection, timely control to prevent major epidemics from occurring, especially dangerous infectious diseases, new diseases, Covid-19; strengthen training and technical expertise development at all levels.

On the afternoon of June 17, Nghe An Health Department held an online conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2022. Attending the conference were leaders of districts, cities, towns and medical units in the province.

Good disease control, ensuring patient rights

In the first 6 months of 2022, Nghe An's health sector has basically completed the goals and targets for protecting, caring for and improving people's health, making an important contribution to completing the province's socio-economic development targets. Specifically: The sector has proactively implemented solutions to prevent and control epidemics. Thanks to that, infectious diseases have decreased compared to the same period in 2021.

The Covid-19 epidemic situation in the area is still basically under control. The whole province has established a system to receive and treat Covid-19 patients from the provincial level to the grassroots level; effectively carry out treatment at home; and minimize the number of patient deaths. By the end of May 2021, in the province, 2,035,779 people aged 18 and over had received the full basic vaccination; 271,589 children aged 12-17 had received 2 doses; 133,849 children aged 5-11 had received at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

In 2022, the whole province will have 528 health insurance medical examination and treatment facilities, including 500 state medical facilities and 28 private medical facilities (15 hospitals and 13 general clinics). The medical examination and treatment facilities have basically implemented well the legal policies onhealth insurance, ensuring the rights of people with Health Insurance Cards when going for medical examination and treatment. As of May 31, the number of medical examinations and treatments covered by health insurance was nearly 1.75 million, with a total amount of over 1,660 billion VND.

The health sector's operations have also encountered many difficulties in recent times. These include: Resources for public investment are limited, not timely compared to the needs of degraded facilities and outdated equipment. The budget for the Health - Population Target Program for the period 2021 - 2025 from the Central Government has not been approved. Service prices have not been calculated correctly and sufficiently for investment in facilities. Health insurance policies still have many shortcomings and are not consistent... The prolonged Covid-19 epidemic has affected the implementation of professional activities.

In the last 6 months of 2022, Nghe An Health sector will continue to promote the implementation of key tasks on disease prevention and control, medical examination and treatment, and improving people's health, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of Nghe An Department of Health stated in his concluding speech at the conference.

Accordingly, medical units need to review their tasks and goals well to complete the assigned plans; constantly innovate service style, improve medical ethics, and aim for people's satisfaction; effectively implement human resource training; properly implement legal regulations in bidding and procurement; proactively manage financial resources and use them effectively; promote administrative reform, reduce people's waiting time; thoroughly apply information technology in all fields; pay more attention to medical communication work... Especially, promote discipline and exemplary behavior of leaders, cadres and party members.

Preventive units need to proactively prevent and combat epidemics, detect early, promptly control to prevent major epidemics from occurring, especially dangerous infectious diseases, new diseases, Covid-19; focus on doing a good job of expanded immunization, Covid-19 vaccination; manage non-communicable diseases well; minimize food poisoning and food-borne diseases; actively implement solutions to achieve the following goals: reduce birth rate, reduce the rate of giving birth to the third child or more, reduce the rate of increase in the sex ratio at birth and improvepopulation quality.

Medical examination and treatment units need to pay attention to developing technical expertise at their units; building and supplementing treatment regimens, procedures, and technical expertise regulations; gradually building infrastructure and facilities; effectively using medical equipment; doing well in hospital quality management... Medical examination and treatment units at higher levels should pay attention to training for lower-level and grassroots units./.
