Nghe An: 20 communes registered to reach new rural status by the end of 2017

(Baonghean.vn) - Attending and directing the conference to evaluate the results of the implementation of the new rural areas of the communes registered to reach the finish line in 2017 on the morning of August 16, comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the provincial National Target Programs emphasized: Localities need to have solutions to complete the remaining criteria, achieving the new rural commune status by the end of the year as planned.

The report of the Office of the National Target Program Coordination for New Rural Construction in the province shows that: In the first 7 months of 2017, 20 communes registered to reach the New Rural Construction target have mobilized more than 396 billion VND in capital. Of which: State budget capital directly supporting investment to implement the Program is more than 150 billion VND. Central capital directly supporting 20 communes in 2017 is more than 44 billion VND; provincial investment support capital through cement is nearly 47 billion VND. Investment support capital of districts is nearly 34 billion VND; investment capital of communes is nearly 26 billion VND. Combined capital from programs and projects is nearly 121 billion VND. Credit capital is more than 43 billion VND; enterprise capital is more than 35 billion VND. People's contributed capital is more than 46 billion VND.

20 communes have built, upgraded and repaired 262 km of rural roads; upgraded 50 km of canals of all kinds; and renovated and upgraded hundreds of irrigation works such as embankments, culverts, and pumping stations for irrigation.

By July 30, 4 communes had met 19/19 criteria; 4 communes had met 18/19 criteria; 5 communes had met 17 criteria; 4 communes had met 16 criteria; 3 communes had met 15 criteria. However, many communes have not yet completed criteria on transportation, schools, environment, culture, poverty rate, etc.

The communes also requested the Provincial People's Committee to support an additional 500 tons of cement before the storm season and support the establishment of an electronic information page according to the new regulations of the NTM criteria set.

All 20/20 communes attending the conference committed to the province to complete 19/19 criteria to reach the NTM finish line by the end of 2017.

Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for National Target Programs of the province directed: There is not much time left in the year, in the condition that the state investment capital is limited, localities need to mobilize many resources, especially socialized resources to complete the remaining criteria, achieving the new rural commune by the end of the year as planned.

The Provincial Steering Committee for National Target Programs assigned departments and branches to review and support communes in completing missing criteria. In particular, some communes that do not have an electronic information page currently have support solutions to complete it.

Nam Dan district alone strives to achieve the NTM district status by the end of 2017, but up to now, there are still 5 communes that have not reached the finish line. The district needs to strengthen propaganda and mobilization work to the people and make good use of capital sources to invest in the right areas, striving to reach the NTM destination on schedule.
