For vehicles that have violated, vehicle owners and businesses must completely cut off the expansion and sign a commitment not to repeat the offense. In just a short period from February 20, 2022 to now, the Traffic Inspectorate has requested to trim 234 extended vehicles. This is the largest number ever implemented by the authorities, in order to rectify the overloading of transport vehicles.

However, what people are most concerned about is that individuals and businesses maintain the body of the truck after cutting it, to avoid re-offending. Regarding this issue, Mr. Hung said that after the authorities cut the body of the truck, they will require vehicle owners and transport businesses to sign a commitment not to re-offend. At the same time, they will strengthen propaganda and mobilize individuals and businesses to comply, and resolutely handle any re-offending.
"In addition, the Traffic Inspectorate also encourages people to report and take photos of violating vehicles to send to the authorities for handling according to the law. In addition, it requires units and repair shops not to mend or extend the truck bed, because this is an act of aiding and abetting violations," Mr. Hung added.
