At that time, a pickup truck with license plate 37C - 157.00 driven by Mr. Nguyen Huu Anh, traveling in the same direction, was surprised and braked suddenly, causing the car to slide to the side of the road.

Suddenly, the car with license plate 86C-014.74 coming from behind overtook and collided with tanker truck 37R-0482 going in the opposite direction of tanker truck with license plate 37C-093.70 and got stuck between the two vehicles. The accident caused the National Highway 1A avoiding Vinh to be blocked for many hours.
