Nghe An: Unexpected hailstorm and strong tornado on the morning of the first day of Tet

At around 7am on January 25 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), hail suddenly appeared in many communes of Tan Ky district lasting about 10 minutes. The density of the hail was not too dense and the size was not too large, about 1-2 cm in diameter.

Ms. Tran Ngoc Bao, residing in Block 6, Tan Ky town, said that she was sitting in her house when she suddenly heard a loud noise on the corrugated iron roof. When she ran out the door, she saw the yard covered in white small stones with a diameter of 1-2 cm. The hailstorm had ruined all the Tet flower pots in her family's yard.

On social media, many people expressed surprise when hail appeared on the first day of Tet. At this time, phenomena such as hail and thunderstorms rarely occur. Many people believe that this is a weather phenomenon that signals a year of favorable rain and wind, and favorable business.
