Nghe An: Witch doctor arrested for using sword to stab son's heart and lungs

On the morning of December 10, Captain Nguyen Viet Nguyen - Deputy Head of the Criminal Police Team of Con Cuong District Police said: At around 7:00 p.m. on December 9, the unit received a report from the Southwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital that there was a death case due to a punctured heart and lungs, suspected of being murdered.

Con Cuong District Police immediately coordinated with the Criminal Police Department, the Criminal Techniques Department of Nghe An Provincial Police, and the People's Procuracy of Nghe An Province to investigate the scene and conduct an autopsy to clarify the case.

Accordingly, at around 6:00 p.m. on December 9, while Mr. Vi Dinh Hoa (born in 1958), residing in Ke Me village, Mau Duc commune, Con Cuong district, was having dinner with his family, his son Vi Dinh Tuyet and his wife came to visit.

While the father and son were talking to each other, a conflict and argument arose. Mr. Vi Dinh Hoa pulled out a 62 cm long sharp sword and stabbed it straight into his son's left armpit. The blade was so sharp that it pierced his heart and lungs, causing Mr. Tuyet to collapse on the spot.

After the incident, Tuyet's family took him to the Southwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment, but due to losing too much blood on the way, Tuyet died.

Seeing his son like that, Mr. Hoa immediately took the poison leaves he had picked from the forest earlier to commit suicide, but his family and neighbors promptly stopped him.

It is known that Mr. Vi Dinh Hoa works as a shaman, his sword is often used in worship ceremonies.

Currently, Con Cuong District Police are detaining Mr. Hoa for intentional murder to continue investigation.
