Nghe An: Taxi companies pledge not to speed, overtake recklessly, or compete for customers

On the afternoon of October 16, Vinh City Police held a conference to sign an agreement on implementing laws on traffic safety and order, and traffic culture with taxi companies. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duy Ha - Deputy Head of the City Police presided.

Currently, there are over 1,300 taxis operating in Vinh city from 12 companies. In recent times, taxi operations have had many violations of traffic safety and order, with the main violations being speeding; illegal overtaking; driving in the wrong lane; stopping, parking, picking up and dropping off passengers in the wrong place, violating traffic signals, not giving way, fighting for passengers causing disorder, transporting criminals, not obeying police orders; driving on drugs...
From November 16, 2016 to July 15, 2017, there were 39 traffic accidents in the city (including: railway: 4 accidents, killing 2 people, injuring 1 person; road: 35 accidents, killing 23 people, injuring 27 people). There were 2 accidents involving taxis, killing 1 person, injuring 1 person. |
At the conference, taxi companies gave opinions and proposed solutions to strictly implement the Law on Road and Railway Traffic and build a traffic culture for drivers.
