Nghe An quarantines entire family after someone returns from Covid-19 epicenter Son Loi (Vinh Phuc)

On the morning of February 18, speaking to Nghe An Newspaper reporters, Mr. Pham Ngoc Duyen - Chairman of Nghi Xuan Commune People's Committee (Nghi Loc District) said that the authorities are quarantining a family of 6 people residing in Xuan Loc hamlet, Nghi Xuan commune. "The quarantine started on February 15, after the couple returned from Vinh Phuc," Mr. Duyen said.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Director of the Center for Disease Control of Nghe An province also confirmed this information and added that the isolated family has a daughter who got married in Son Loi commune (Binh Xuyen district). This is a commune that has been strictly controlled and isolated since February 13.

Nghi Xuan commune leaders added that, along with quarantining this family, the local government also assigned forces to monitor and provide adequate food such as rice, vegetables, and groceries for the quarantined family. In addition, the commune government also encouraged the family not to go anywhere during this time.

Nghi Xuan Commune is only about 10km from Vinh City.

Up to now, Nghi Xuan commune authorities have sprayed pesticides around the house and within a 500m radius around it.
