Nghe An has over 3,000 facilities with fire and explosion hazards.
(Baonghean.vn) - That is one of the figures stated in the Notice of conclusion of the explanation session on fire and explosion prevention and fighting in Nghe An province by the Provincial Fire Prevention and Fighting Police before the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council.

Accordingly, in recent times, the coordination of Party committees, authorities, organizations and units in fire prevention and fighting has been focused on; people's awareness of fire and explosion prevention and fighting has been raised compared to before. However, there are still many limitations.
According to preliminary statistics from the Nghe An Fire Police, in the province there are still 59 establishments that have converted their functions and usage from residential houses to hotels, motels, karaoke, supermarkets... but have not carried out fire prevention and fighting design approval and organized fire prevention and fighting acceptance before putting into operation according to regulations. In Vinh City, there are still many old apartment buildings that do not meet fire prevention and fighting requirements, posing a high risk of fire, but there are still no effective measures to overcome them.
In the whole province, there are 244 fire hydrants in public places, reaching 5.3% of the standard and regulations. Meanwhile, Nghe An has nearly 6,000 facilities under fire prevention management, of which 3,019 are at risk of fire and explosion.

The conclusion also pointed out the causes of limitations in fire prevention and fighting work such as: local authorities and functional agencies have not intervened promptly and strictly handled establishments violating fire prevention and fighting regulations in construction investment in the area under their management; the awareness of a part of businesses and people is not high, and they still disregard fire prevention and fighting work...
To rectify the above situation, the Provincial People's Council proposed that after the inspection by the interdisciplinary inspection team on fire prevention and fighting work at apartment buildings, the list of apartment buildings and investors violating the law will be made public on mass media so that voters and people can know and monitor the correction of violations; strictly handle violations of fire prevention and fighting safety regulations in accordance with the law...
