Nghe An: Emergency rescue of a fishing boat with engine failure and 18 crew members
(Baonghean.vn) - A fishing boat of fishermen in Quynh Luu district was operating at sea when its engine broke down, and 18 crew members on board needed urgent rescue.
Accordingly, at 6:00 p.m. on October 13, 2018, fishing boat NA90988TS with 18 crew members, captained by Mr. Nguyen Ba Duan, residing in Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district, was operating seafood exploitation in an area about 72 nautical miles southeast of Cua Hoi, Nghe An, when the main engine broke down, water flooded in and there was a risk of sinking; the captain requested urgent rescue.

Upon receiving the news, Nghe An Border Guard Command mobilized ship CN09 (BP 06.19.01) and 15 officers to urgently rescue the fishing boat.
At 8:00 p.m. on October 14, the rescue ship approached the distressed ship, conducted rescue and towed it to shore.
