(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 15, the Department of Information and Communications held an online conference to review the information and communications work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy the work program for the last 6 months of 2016.

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of 21 districts, cities, towns, departments, branches and related units at the conference points attended the conference. Comrade Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications chaired the conference.

In the first 6 months of 2016, the Department of Information and Communications has completed the assigned tasks to ensure quality and efficiency, directed the information system to focus on reflecting and propagating important events of the province and the country, oriented the propaganda of social issues, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics in the province and creating consensus in society.

Especially in the management of press and publishing, the Department of Information and Communications has done a good job of controlling information and supervising the activities of press agencies in accordance with the law; affirmed its role as a bridge between press agencies and departments, branches and localities to build an equal press operating environment; and performed well the work of foreign information.

The Department has deployed the application of the province's electronic information systems synchronously and effectively such as: HCM Egov 2.0 e-government project; systems: official email, online meetings; electronic one-stop public administrative service information portal,...

The Department of Information and Communications organized the exhibition "Uncle Ho with the National Assembly and People's Council" in May 2016.

Units and enterprises in the field of information and communication technology have operated effectively, developing the information and communication technology infrastructure according to the plan: telephone subscribers in the province by 2016 are estimated to reach a density of 138 subscribers/100 people; converted internet subscribers reach a density of 39.7 converted internet subscribers/100 people; deployed 1,906 BTS station locations.

Broadcasting infrastructure has been developed widely to all districts and cities; 91.4% of communes, wards and towns have grassroots radio stations. Basic postal infrastructure has met the needs of the people with 100% of communes and wards having service points.

In the last 6 months of 2016, the Department of Information and Communications continues to strive to achieve the set goals in professional activities, in state management of localities and enterprises, focusing on building and perfecting information infrastructure, creating a foundation for developing e-Government. Applying shared software in administrative agencies; ensuring that 80% of district People's Committees apply modern IT in one-stop-shop departments. Organizing the implementation of a number of pilot one-stop-shop models connecting to the commune level.

At the Conference, local representatives made recommendations on issues such as: speeding up the implementation of the HCM Egov 2.0 system; increasing propaganda about Cua Lo beach tourism; upgrading the infrastructure of the broadcasting system in Dien Chau, Do Luong, Ky Son, Anh Son, Quynh Luu,... increasing training, guidance and support for localities on IT implementation; closely inspecting and monitoring business activities in the IT field.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee informed about some IT development policies of the province in 2016. At the same time, he acknowledged the efforts and endeavors of the Information and Communications sector in the past time and hoped that in the coming time, the sector would continue to fulfill its tasks well, especially information technology enterprises.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also noted that relevant departments, branches and units should make efforts to operate the HCM Egov 2.0 e-government system by January 1, 2017.

Concluding the Conference, Comrade Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications acknowledged and responded to comments and contributions from localities and units and assigned relevant units to review and implement in order to successfully complete the goals and tasks in the coming time./.
