Nghe An proposes the President to give longevity greeting cards to nearly 400 people turning 100 years old

To ensure that people with meritorious services and social protection beneficiaries, the poor, children in especially difficult circumstances, and ethnic minorities enjoy the joyful atmosphere of Tet and welcome Spring, the Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to ensure the implementation of policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution and social security work during the 2018 Lunar New Year.

Accordingly, in addition to ensuring timely payment of preferential allowances for February 2018 to people with revolutionary contributions and social beneficiaries in the province, the Provincial People's Committee also has a plan to visit and present Tet gifts to people with revolutionary contributions and social beneficiaries in the province. The total budget for implementing the policy of visiting and presenting gifts to beneficiaries is more than 50 billion VND.

89,547 people with revolutionary contributions will receive gifts from the President, with a total cost of more than 18.42 billion VND, including two gift levels of 200,000 and 400,000 VND/person.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented gifts worth a total of more than 10.68 billion VND, including 42 families of outstanding meritorious people in 21 districts, cities, and towns and 6 units implementing policies for meritorious people; 758 social beneficiaries being cared for at the province's social protection centers and 4 units implementing social protection tasks, 60 outstanding elderly people; 60 poor households with especially difficult circumstances; supporting 66,693 poor households to celebrate Tet. The Provincial People's Committee will also print longevity certificates for 6,500 elderly people who are 90, 95, 100 and over 100 years old...

In addition, the district and commune levels will also allocate a total budget of more than VND 21.42 billion to give gifts to 6,253 people who are children of resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals; 69,683 resistance fighters who were awarded medals and orders and their family members who were awarded medals and orders (family medals) who are still alive and do not enjoy the regimes; retired cadres, cadres with disabilities, cadres currently working, and preferential allowances for people with meritorious services; 8,096 people serving people with meritorious services to the revolution; and longevity wishes and celebrations for 45,461 elderly people.

The provincial People's Committee also proposed the President to present longevity greeting cards to 394 elderly people who turned 100 years old; and requested the Government to provide and support 1,860 tons of rice to 32,670 households during the Lunar New Year 2018./.
