Nghe An welcomes the first support delegation returning from the epidemic center of Ho Chi Minh City

On the afternoon of September 18, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep - Nghe An General Hospital, Head of the medical team supporting Ho Chi Minh City to fight the epidemic, said that all 60 members of the team had just returned to Nghe An, after more than 2 months in the epidemic center. Currently, the team is being quarantined for 7 days at a hotel in Cua Lo town, then will continue to quarantine at home for 7 days.

The delegation led by Dr. Hiep is the first delegation that Nghe An sent to the southern provinces to support the fight against the epidemic. This delegation departed on July 12.

In the epicenter of the epidemic in Ho Chi Minh City, 60 doctors and nurses were assigned to treat patients on the 3rd floor of Trung Vuong Hospital. This is the last floor in the 3-storey tower model for treating Covid-19 patients, the floor for severe and critical patients.

After successfully completing the mission, on September 17, the delegation boarded a plane to Hanoi, then Nghe An arranged a sleeper bus to take them straight to the hotel in Cua Lo. Although the delegation arrived in Cua Lo town at 2:00 a.m. on September 18, the leaders of the Department of Health led by Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department were still present to encourage and visit.

Speaking at the reception, the Director of Nghe An Department of Health acknowledged and praised the dedication and dedication of 60 doctors and nurses. "You have truly demonstrated the medical ethics of a medical staff. You have forgotten yourself, defied difficulties, and bravely rushed into the most dangerous places with the highest risk of exposure for more than 2 months. Many cases have been cured, many patients have had the opportunity to live and return to their families. That is the most worthy reward for your efforts and silent, persistent sacrifices," said the head of Nghe An Department of Health.

On behalf of the delegation, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep thanked the province and Nghe An Department of Health for their attention and support in all aspects, and each unit where the doctors and medical staff worked in particular. In the difficult conditions caused by the epidemic, they tried to create the most favorable conditions for the delegation to complete their tasks.

In the past, Nghe An has sent 4 teams to support the southern provinces in fighting the epidemic, despite the complicated epidemic situation in the province. Currently, Nghe An province still has 3 teams with 141 medical staff supporting the southern provinces. Of which, 1 team supports Ho Chi Minh City, 1 team supports Binh Duong province and 1 team supports Dong Nai province. Most of the teams support the work of collecting samples for testing./.
