Nghe An welcomes the remains of nearly 100 martyrs who died in Laos back home
(Baonghean.vn) - After the welcoming ceremony in Ky Son, Do Luong, the remains of 98 martyrs were brought back to Nghi Loc district cemetery, Nghe An province for burial.
* On the morning of May 12, Ky Son district held a ceremony to welcome the remains of 98 martyrs, Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos, back to Vietnam for burial.
Attending the ceremony were Major General Xitha Duong Ma La - Director of the Policy Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Army, Deputy Head of the Special Affairs Department of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; Major General Ban Na La Xeng - Commander of the Military Command of Vientiane Province; Bun Xuc Chon Vi San - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the People's Council of Xay Xom Bun Province.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were Colonel Tran Van Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of Nghe An Provincial Military Command, representatives of Ky Son district leaders and a large number of cadres, party members and people in the area.
In his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district stated: "For every Vietnamese person in general, the Party Committee, government and people of Ky Son in particular, always deeply aware and remember that to achieve the achievements like today, there were many heroic martyrs, children of Vietnam who fell for national independence, for the happiness of the people. The feats and sacrifices of the martyrs have contributed to brightening and embellishing the golden history of the two countries, at the same time tightening the loyal feelings, special solidarity and friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos".

Earlier, also in the morning of the same day, at Nam Can International Border Gate, the Party Committee, government and people of Nam Can commune held a ceremony to welcome the martyrs.

In a solemn and dignified atmosphere, delegates and people of Do Luong district respectfully bowed their heads to welcome and express their deep gratitude to the martyrs who heroically sacrificed for national independence, for the revolutionary ideals of the Party and the cause of liberating the brotherly country of Laos.
On May 14, the remains of 98 martyrs will be buried at Nghi Loc district cemetery, Nghe An province.
