Mr. Pham Hong Thuong - Head of the Department of Natural Disaster Prevention (Nghe An Irrigation Department) said: In the immediate future, Nghe An will receive 40 billion VND in support from the Central Government. The relevant sector has inspected, reviewed and allocated this capital to implement the construction of the first two weak projects.
Specifically, the La village cluster project, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district, Nam Non hydropower basin, and Ve village need to relocate 34 households living along the Nam Non riverbank at risk of flash floods. Project 2 is Nhan Ly village cluster, Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district, which was damaged by flash floods in 2017. For these two projects, relocating households and repairing infrastructure requires over 100 billion VND. Therefore, the province will consider integrating other capital sources, and at the same time call on Nam Non hydropower plant and Ban Ve hydropower plant to support additional funding for investment.
The remaining 5 projects will continue to be implemented when there is central funding support.
