Nghe An: Nearly 1,000 young people respond to Earth Hour 2019
(Baonghean.vn) - Nearly 1,000 young people participated in the Launching Ceremony of the "Earth Hour" campaign in 2019, chaired by Nghe An Provincial Youth Union in coordination with the Department of Industry and Trade, Nghe An Electricity Company and a number of related units, organized on the afternoon of March 27 in Vinh city.
Attending the launching ceremony were delegates: Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; Pham Tuan Vinh - Member of the Central Youth Union Standing Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors.

Earth Hour 2019 will officially start from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019 with the slogan“Save Energy - Protect the Earth”.
This is the 9th consecutive year Nghe An has participated in responding to Earth Hour with the whole country through important activities to call for, propagate, mobilize, and raise awareness among children and people about saving energy, saving resources, protecting the environment, and responding to climate change.
At the same time, promote the volunteer spirit of young people in participating in environmental protection activities, saving energy, minimizing the impact of climate change on social life through specific actions, creating a widespread emulation movement, spreading to all people and youth union members, towards building a greener - cleaner - more beautiful and civilized environment.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh called on communities, businesses, agencies and units to make changes together, to turn off unnecessary electrical equipment for one hour and more. Each small action will bring great meaning, contributing to changing public awareness about environmental protection, energy saving, responding to climate change, contributing to preserving the country's natural resources, not only today, but also for future generations.

In addition, nearly 1,000 union members, youth and students organized a bicycle parade through the main streets of Vinh city, with the aim of raising public awareness in responding to Earth Hour.
