(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 22, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the delegation of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland had a working session to implement the project: "Fighting against human trafficking and modern slavery; Interdisciplinary approach to change behavior, enhance support for legal access and reintegration for victims".

Project “Combating Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery; Cross-sectoral Approach to Changing Behavior, Enhancing Access to Justice and Reintegration for Victims” (abbreviated as TMSV)funded by the UK Government and jointly implemented by three organizations (the International Organization for Migration, World Vision and the British Council) in the provinces and cities of Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Quang Binh, from September 2019 to March 2021. This project has been approved by the Minister of Public Security.
The TMVS project aims to address human trafficking from Vietnam to the UK. The project implements intervention activities for groups of people who are victims of human trafficking returning from the UK within 1 year and people at risk of being victims; research, raising awareness, community participation, capacity building for organizations, societies and localities in preventing human trafficking.

The Deputy Ambassador said: “Covid-19 in Vietnam has been effectively contained, but like many other countries, the impact of the pandemic on the Vietnamese economy is huge. From there, the problem of human trafficking and illegal migration will continue to arise new risks.
The TMSV project was born with the desire to solve the problem of human trafficking and illegal migration and is very suitable for the current context. Hopefully, the project will receive active cooperation from all parties, be effectively implemented with new initiatives, and create new job opportunities for the people.
Talking to the delegation, Mr. Doan Hong Vu - Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An province said: "In recent times, implementing the policies of the Party, State and Government on promoting legal migration and preventing illegal migration, Nghe An has stepped up the work of preventing illegal migration and criminal activities of illegal migration; as well as ensuring social security for people before, during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The TMSV project is of great significance in accompanying the implementation of this policy. Nghe An province highly agrees, commits to good cooperation, and creates favorable conditions for the project to be successfully implemented."
"Regarding the project activities expected to be implemented in the province, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and other departments and branches will soon advise the People's Committee of Nghe An province to make decisions to help the project be implemented effectively, especially on livelihood issues for the people. I hope the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will work more with the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to have more specific instructions on project implementation" - Mr. Doan Hong Vu suggested./.
