Nghe An: One person died while spraying water to save tea plants from drought
(Baonghean.vn) - While watering the tea plants that were burned by the drought, a man collapsed and died right in the ditch.
On the afternoon of June 30, Mr. Pham Xuan Luc - Chairman of Thanh My Commune People's Committee (Thanh Chuong District) said that a tragic incident had just occurred in the commune, Mr. Hoang Van Dao (born in 1987, residing in Hamlet 2, Thanh My Commune) died while helping to save tea from drying out due to the heat and drought.
According to Mr. Luc, during the past time, Mr. Dao worked as a construction worker during the day. Due to difficult family circumstances, Mr. Dao could not afford to buy a water pump to save the tea from drought due to the hot weather. At night, Mr. Dao stayed up to borrow someone else's water pump to spray water to save his family's tea.
“Early this morning, June 30, people still saw Mr. Dao trying to water the tea. Then, around 7am, people discovered Mr. Dao lying face down motionless in the ditch. It is suspected that Mr. Dao may have stayed up many nights in a row working too hard, leading to exhaustion...” - Mr. Luc said.
