The 2022 Cua Lo Tourism Festival will start on April 9, which is the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month, lasting for a week until the Nghi Hai ward fishing festival. The deadline is March 30, the urban beautification work must be completed, ready to serve tourists.

Regarding the issue of ensuring safety for tourists in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, Mr. Nguyen Huu Le - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health said that the health sector is proactively coordinating with the Department of Tourism to assess safety criteria for establishments providing services to tourists.

In addition, epidemic surveillance work has also been tightened to promptly detect imported Covid-19 cases and the risk of infiltration of the Omicron variant.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Director of Nghe An Department of Tourism requested that the tourism industry, when welcoming and serving guests, must strictly comply with epidemic prevention and control measures under the direction of the Government, the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, the guidance of the Ministry of Health and relevant authorities; ensuring safety, convenience and a complete experience for tourists when coming to Nghe An.

Enterprises, workers and communities must be proactive and ready to welcome guests, have flexible and timely solutions to handle situations; ensure close coordination between state management agencies, units, organizations and individuals in the process of welcoming tourists.

Chairman of Nghe An Tourism Association, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, said: “For international visitors in particular, one of the requirements is to ensure safety when welcoming and seeing them off. In addition to implementing vaccination for 100% of the tourism workforce in the province, the tourism industry is also improving training and preparing high-quality human resources to best serve in the post-Covid-19 period.”

Nghe An strives to welcome and serve 3.3 million visitors in 2022tourist arrivals, up 91% compared to 2021, including 10,000 international visitors, up 107% compared to 2021.

To achieve that goal, Nghe An Department of Tourism coordinates with departments, branches and localities to organize programs to promote, advertise and stimulate domestic and foreign tourism, step up communication to promote tourist destinations with the message "Safe, friendly, quality and attractive tourist destination" combined with the campaign to welcome international visitors "Full experience in Vietnam" on media, domestic and international fairs; train and foster tourism human resources, apply information technology, digital transformation in management, operation, promotion and support for tourists.

The Department of Tourism proactively consults data on local epidemic levels that are regularly updated on the Department of Health's electronic information portal; requires tourism businesses to register and self-assess epidemic safety daily to connect with the national Covid-19 safety system; presides over and coordinates with relevant agencies and units to establish an interdisciplinary inspection team, guides compliance with regulations in tourism activities, and strictly handles violations.
