Nghe An launches movement to socialize toilets for tourists

Nghe An Department of Tourism received the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism

(Baonghean.vn) - At the conference summarizing tourism activities in 2018 and deploying tasks for 2019 taking place on the afternoon of January 11, the Department of Tourism was honored to receive the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for its outstanding achievements in building and organizing local tourism activities in 2018.

According to the assessment, some tourist attractions with a large number of visitors such as Kim Lien Relic Site, Truong Bon Historical Relic Site, Dai Tue Pagoda, Muong Thanh Dien Lam Eco-tourism Area... have quite spacious restrooms. Most of the planning, investment projects for construction, preservation and restoration of historical relics have included the construction of public restrooms. Many service establishments, shopping malls, and gas stations on national and provincial highways have paid more attention to the construction of public restrooms.

However, in general, the situation of public toilets at tourist attractions, tourist facilities and service establishments has not met the increasing service needs of tourists. Many toilets are too small, of low quality, and some are even makeshift, affecting the general environment as well as the image of Nghe An tourism.

Up to now, the whole province has 199 toilets serving tourists at relics, scenic spots, and tourist attractions; of which only 79 toilets meet the standards to serve tourists.

To promptly overcome limitations and shortcomings and create strong changes in the coming time, within the framework of the Conference summarizing tourism activities in 2018 and deploying tasks in 2019, Nghe An Department of Tourism launched a movement to socialize toilets for tourists in key tourist areas.

The purpose of the campaign is to promote available resources to socialize toilets for tourists, improve tourist satisfaction; Disseminate and replicate good practices and good models in socializing toilets; Contribute to environmental protection and build a civilized, friendly, hospitable cultural lifestyle of the people, and well implement the Code of Conduct for Civilized Tourism./.
