In 2 years, from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2015, through the fight and raid, the Provincial Police discovered and arrested 2,858 gambling cases with 7,526 gamblers.

Cash and other assets worth nearly 10 billion VND were seized. Among them, 141 cases were cadres, civil servants, officials, and party members involved in gambling.

Of these, 537 cases were prosecuted, 2,602 defendants (78 officials and civil servants); 1,521 administrative cases were handled, 4,924 subjects (63 cases were officials and civil servants), and the state budget collected more than 5.2 billion VND.

At the meeting, based on the discussion, analysis and clarification of the causes of the increase in gambling in recent years, especially among cadres and party members, comrade Nguyen Huu Lam emphasized a number of solutions to effectively combat gambling in the coming time.
