Nghe An is about to have another wharf to receive ships with a capacity of 30,000 DTW
(Baonghean.vn) - The Vietnam Maritime Administration has decided to announce the opening of wharf No. 5 - Cua Lo Port, which can receive general cargo ships and containers with a capacity of 30,000 DWT with reduced load.

According to the People's Committee of Nghe An province, up to now, the investor has completed the investment in wharf No. 5 and completed the procedures to announce the opening of the port. On July 20, 2018, the Vietnam Maritime Administration also issued Decision No. 1155/QD - CHHVN on announcing the opening of wharf No. 5 - Cua Lo Port.
According to this Decision, Wharf No. 5 can receive general cargo and container ships with a capacity of 30,000 DWT with reduced load. It is expected that the investor will put Wharf No. 5 into operation in the near future and continue to build Wharf No. 6.
For the Vissai Seaport project, in the Inland Port Area, the investor is currently synchronously constructing 3 berths for ships with a capacity of up to 10,000 DTW. On May 19, 2018, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company sent a document requesting to continue constructing 4 berths for ships with a capacity of 10,000 DTW. The Southeast Economic Zone Management Board has advised the People's Committee of Nghe An province to send a document to the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Maritime Administration to request agreement on location and technical parameters for the investor to continue investing in construction.
The Vissai seaport project in Nghe An consists of 2 wharf areas: the international wharf area has 3 wharfs and the domestic wharf area has 7 wharfs. On October 21, 2017, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company held a ceremony to announce the opening of seaports No. 1 and No. 2 of the international wharf area to receive 70,000-ton ships and officially put Vissai seaport into operation and exploitation of phase 1.
