Nghe An will upgrade and renovate National Highway 7 with a total investment of over 1,300 billion VND.
(Baonghean.vn) - National Highway 7 through Dien Chau, Yen Thanh and Do Luong districts will be renovated and upgraded with a total investment of more than 1,300 billion VND from the State budget.
A representative of the Department of Transport said that the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 7, section Km0 to Km36, and handle landslides caused by storms and floods in the Khe Thoi (Con Cuong) and Nam Can (Ky Son) sections has a total investment of over 1,300 billion VND.
This is a medium-term public investment project for the period 2021 - 2025.

Accordingly, the project is 27.5 km long, starting at Km0 (intersection with National Highway 1, Dien Chau town) and ending at Km35+225 (bridgehead).Do Luong, Do Luong town, Nghe An).
The scale of the project isupgrading National Highway 7The section Km0 – Km36 follows the standard of a grade III plain road, with a design speed of 80 km/h. The sections passing through urban areas have a design speed of 60 km/h. The project has a roadbed width of 12m, a road surface width of 11m, and sections passing through urban areas are 20 – 25m wide. Handling landslides and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods in the Khe Thoi – Nam Can section with a length of 700 meters.
Currently, the bidding for 1 package has been completed and 2 contractors for the next packages are being selected. According to the plan, this project will be implemented in early September 2022 and will be put into use by 2024.
National Highway 7 is a key traffic route passing through important traffic axes such as National Highway 1A, Ho Chi Minh Trail, National Highway 15A and North-South Expressway.
Upgrading this route is of great significance, contributing to strengthening connectivity, improving exploitation capacity, ensuring smooth traffic on the transport corridor from Nam Can Border Gate connecting Laos to the coastal provinces of the Central region, developing the local economy, ensuring national defense and security in the region.
