Nghe An: Will build more private preschools
(Baonghean.vn) - Finding solutions to develop non-public preschool education to improve the overload situation is the main content of the Workshop on Planning for the Development of Public Preschool Education, 2017 - 2020 period, organized by the Department of Education and Training on the morning of September 28.
In her opening speech at the workshop, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, Director of the Department of Education and Training, affirmed: Preschool is an important level in the national education system, laying the initial foundation for the physical, intellectual, emotional, linguistic and aesthetic development of children and creating a premise for the development of later general education levels.

However, the preschool picture of the province is still messy, with many problems, lacking facilities and the concept of temporary classrooms and borrowed classrooms is still quite common. Many schools have poor and inadequate equipment and toys and most of them still rely on the limited local budget.
In particular, the rate of mobilizing children of nursery and kindergarten age has not met the needs and wishes of parents and has not reached the set target. Currently, the rate of mobilizing children for nursery is only 18.19%, even in areas near Vinh City, the rate is only 13%.
From this reality, the workshop on Planning for the development of non-public preschool education heard many contributions from localities, units and preschool education institutions both public and non-public. On that basis, discussed solutions to promote the socialization of non-public preschool education in the coming period.

The main goal is that by 2020, most localities in cities, towns and townships of the district will have additional private kindergarten systems; rural localities, industrial workers' zones, and densely populated areas will have independent private educational institutions and family childcare groups, aiming to attract over 90% of preschool-age children and 25-30% of preschool-age children to attend classes along with public preschools.
In the 2017-2018 school year, the province had 39 private and non-public preschools and more than 206 private independent preschools, an increase of 26 schools and 190 independent facilities compared to 2011. Of which, the main concentration is in Vinh City. Currently, the rate of mobilizing children in non-public preschools in the city is 61% at nursery age and 34% at kindergarten age. |
