Nghe An postpones a series of grassroots party congresses to focus on preventing the Covid-19 epidemic
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, localities in the province have issued documents deciding to temporarily postpone the organization of congresses of party cells and grassroots party committees to focus on disease prevention.
Con Cuong District Party Committee is a model congress unit of the province. By the end of February, 100% of Party cells under the grassroots Party Committee had completed their congresses. According to the plan, the grassroots Party Committees and Party cells under the district Party Committee will complete their congresses before April 10. However, due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, implementing the direction of the province, the grassroots Party Congress will be postponed until after April 15. If there are no changes, the Con Cuong District Party Congress will take place in May 2020.
In fact, up to this point, 100% of party cells under the grassroots party committees in Con Cuong district and nearly 70% of grassroots party committees and party cells under the district party committees have completed their congresses. Also implementing the direction of the superiors, the district has directed the temporary suspension of congresses in 4 units: District Police, Pu Mat National Park, Binh Chuan and Lang Khe commune party committees (according to the previous plan, these party committees had their congresses on March 30).

“The Standing Committee of the District Party Committee requests Party committees and Party organizations at all levels to focus on directing the implementation of measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic in a proactive manner, avoiding passivity and surprises. Due to the postponement of the congress at the grassroots level, the District Party Congress must also be postponed and rescheduled compared to the original schedule. The goal is to ensure safety, quality and the highest efficiency,” said Con Cuong District Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Dinh Hung.

For the Party Committee of Cua Lo town, according to plan, on March 26, the Party Committee of Nghi Huong ward and the Party Cell of the town's Medical Center will hold a preparatory congress and an official congress on March 27, but the Town Party Committee has directed a temporary postponement.
The Cua Lo Town Party Committee has 10 Party cells and Party cells directly under the District Party Committee that have completed their congresses. According to the plan, by April, 100% of grassroots Party cells and Party cells directly under the District Party Committee will complete their congresses, before the town Party Congress is scheduled to take place in early May 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 epidemic situation, the town has temporarily postponed all grassroots-level congresses.
As for the Yen Thanh District Party Committee, up to now, 50/82 grassroots party committees and party cells under the district party committees have completed their congresses. According to the plan before April 10, on average, 4 to 5 grassroots party committees and party cells under the district party committees held congresses each day. In particular, on April 8 and 9, 8 to 9 units held congresses. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Yen Thanh District Party Committee directed the temporary suspension of all grassroots-level congresses to focus on epidemic prevention and control.

As for the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee, up to now, 33 grassroots Party Committees and affiliated Party cells have completed their congresses. According to the plan, the Party Congress of the Command will take place in May 2020.
To focus on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Provincial Party Committee of Agencies has also directed Party cells and grassroots Party committees to postpone their congresses. On March 27, the Party Committee of the Department of Health postponed its congress. The units: Party Cell of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Party Committee of the Department of Home Affairs, and Department of Finance were scheduled to hold their congresses on March 30, 2020, but they have also postponed them in accordance with the province's direction.
Faced with the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, in order to focus on epidemic prevention and control, the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 08-CD/TU dated March 26, 2020 directing the postponement of the organization of grassroots party congresses, including model congresses, until further instructions are issued to focus on leading and directing the implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control measures in the most effective way.
At the same time, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee also requested that Party Committees at all levels continue to lead and direct the preparation of the content of Party Congresses at all levels in accordance with Directive No. 35-CT/TW dated May 30, 2019 of the Politburo. When the Covid-19 epidemic is under control and there is no longer a risk of infection, the congress will be held according to the general plan. Strengthen propaganda and mobilization to raise awareness and responsibility of cadres, Party members and each citizen on epidemic prevention and control.
This dispatch aims to strictly implement the policy of the Politburo, the directives of the Government and the Prime Minister on temporarily suspending all meetings and gatherings of more than 20 people for at least the next 2 weeks.
