On January 7, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a Plan of activities to ensure security and safety.food2025 in Nghe An province.
The issuance of the plan aims to strengthen the capacity of food safety management from the provincial to district and commune levels; contribute to protecting the health and interests of consumers; meet the requirements of development and integration in the new period; raise awareness and responsibility of food production, trading and processing establishments and consumers in ensuring food safety and quality.

At the same time, to strengthen close coordination between relevant agencies, units, sectors and organizations in performing the task of State management of food safety; create positive changes in awareness and action, promote the responsibility of heads of relevant agencies and localities in ensuring food security and safety; enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of State management, develop mechanisms, policies and allocate resources for ensuring food security and safety to respond to the new situation.
The plan sets out specific goals, including: Over 95% of food safety officers and members of the Food Safety Steering Committee at district and commune levels are trained in food safety management skills; over 90% of food production, processing, and trading establishments and food services are trained in food safety knowledge; over 95% of food service establishments and food production and trading establishments managed by the health sector are granted certificates of food safety eligibility according to regulations.
100% of concentrated industrial-scale food production and processing establishments in the province apply advanced quality management systems such as GMP, HACCP, ISO, IFS, BRC, FSSC 22000; 75% of agricultural, forestry and fishery production and trading establishments subject to food safety eligibility certificates are granted certificates of qualified establishments or equivalent; 60% of small-scale initial production establishments sign a commitment to produce safe food; 100% of concentrated aquaculture areas, 100% of vegetable growing areas and concentrated livestock raising areas are monitored for residues of toxic substances.
100% of collective kitchens are inspected and monitored. Minimize food poisoning occurring in collective kitchens in the province. 100% of supermarkets are controlled for food safety (ensuring food safety conditions according to regulations), 90% of markets have food safety control activities. The Provincial People's Committee requests departments, branches, and authorities at all levels to continue to focus on directing the effective implementation of tasks and solutions for management and ensuring food security and safety, including: Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of direction and administration; strengthening information and communication work, training and coaching on food safety; implementing peak periods in 2025 (Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, Month of Action for Food Safety); promoting inspection, examination, post-inspection, supervision, and handling of violations of food safety laws; improving the capacity to prevent and combat food poisoning and food-borne diseases; developing food safety management models; promoting scientific and technological activities; ensuring resources for food safety activities.
The Provincial People's Committee also clearly assigned responsibilities to departments, branches, districts, cities, towns and relevant agencies in organizing the implementation of goals and tasks; strengthening coordination between functional forces in the fight against trafficking and transportation of smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods violating food safety./.
