Nghe An: Strengthening propaganda to help fishermen comply with regulations on aquatic exploitation
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to raise the awareness, responsibility and compliance of the fishing community with regulations in the fisheries sector, Nghe An Fishing Port Management Board focuses on propaganda and implementation in many diverse forms at 4 fishing ports: Cua Hoi, Lach Van, Lach Quen and Quynh Phuong.
At Cua Hoi Fishing Port, the technical infrastructure is invested quite synchronously, including: wharf, seafood sorting house, inclined wharf, 1220 KVA power system, fresh water supply system and other auxiliary works... to promptly meet the needs of domestic and foreign ships entering and leaving the port.

In order for fishermen to strictly comply with the regulations on submitting exploitation reports, purchase and transfer logs, and exploitation logs according to regulations, Cua Hoi Fishing Port focuses on propaganda and dissemination of the Party's policies, State documents and relevant legal contents on fisheries to fishermen through diverse and rich activities, such as: Directly propagating and guiding fishermen to record exploitation logs; distributing leaflets to fishermen; through the port's, block's and hamlets' broadcasting systems to propagate and integrate propaganda into meetings in blocks and hamlets...
Thanks to that, when fishing boats arrive at the port, fishermen must notify before arriving and leaving the port, and at the same time, submit fishing reports, purchase and transfer logs, fishing logs, etc.

Since the beginning of 2020, Nghe An Fishing Port Management Board has coordinated with local authorities to organize many conferences and meetings at 4 fishing ports to disseminate the following contents: Fisheries Law 2017; Decree No. 26/2019/ND-CP and Decree No. 42/2019/ND-CP; Contents according to Directive No. 45/CT-TTg on a number of urgent tasks and solutions to overcome the EC's warning on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU);
Circular No. 21/2018/TT-BNNPTNT dated November 15, 2018 on Regulations on recording, submitting reports and logbooks of aquatic exploitation; announcing designated fishing ports to confirm the origin of aquatic products from exploitation; list of fishing vessels illegally exploiting aquatic products; confirming raw materials, certifying the origin of exploited aquatic products; Stipulating specific criteria and procedures for reviewing applications for approval documents for building, converting, leasing, purchasing fishing vessels operating at sea in Nghe An province; Deploying the installation of voyage monitoring equipment for fishing vessels with a maximum length of 15 meters or more (including the policy of supporting 50% of the equipment price and 50% of the monthly subscription fee); Regulations related to Fishing Ports, Fishing Wharfs, etc.
Currently, Nghe An Fishing Port Management Board is making more than 6,000 leaflets with content related to the fisheries sector, the minimum regulations that fishermen need to remember when going to sea to distribute for free to fishermen in the province.
