Nghe An: Highlights on July 6

*Cafternoon 6/7,Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegationled by Comrade Le Hoai Trung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the National Border Committee, working with leaders of Nghe An province.

Receiving and working with the delegation were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung acknowledged and highly appreciated Nghe An's foreign affairs work. Deputy Minister Le Hoai Trung said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to act as a bridge so that Nghe An can continue to promote the above cooperation channels to effectively serve the province's development process.

At the meeting, the provincial leaders thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for always supporting and helping Nghe An. Implementing the foreign policy and foreign affairs, Nghe An has always been proactive in attracting investment and has achieved some results.

In the current trend, the province has prepared well the conditions to attract investors, including industrial park infrastructure. Provincial leaders expressed their hope that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to support the province to continue improving the efficiency of investment attraction. The issues raised by Deputy Minister Le Hoai Trung will be included in the province's documents for the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, to plan the next 5-year strategy.

The Provincial Party Secretary received Mr. Nguyen Trung Thang, Xuan Dong hamlet, Nghi Duc commune, Vinh city, with a request for competent authorities to allocate a resettlement land plot and 5 residential land plots with land use fees to the co-heirs of the family whose land was recovered by the State to implement the project of building a road connecting Vinh - Cua Lo (phase 1) through Nghi Duc commune.

After listening to the opinions of citizens, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Finance, and representatives of relevant agencies and units, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy concluded the solution; thereby expressing his appreciation for the opinions of citizens. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council said that there are still many difficulties when the new rural construction program in some places; the implementation of key projects is still slow; land and mineral resource management is inadequate; forest fires still pose many potential dangers... In the last 6 months of the year, it is necessary to promptly implement the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels; pay attention to attracting investment, creating conditions to welcome quality capital flows; resolutely handle projects that do not ensure quality and progress.

According to the report of the Provincial Military Service Council, in 2020, the Government assigned Nghe An to recruit 3,250 citizens, of which 3,104 citizens joined the Army and 146 citizens joined the Police. Military Service Councils at all levels have directed localities to perform well the work of selecting, reviewing records, finalizing the number of soldiers and issuing military service orders to ensure the quality and assigned targets.

However, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also said that there are still many limitations in the military recruitment work and lessons need to be learned. Regarding the direction of military recruitment work in 2021, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung requested that departments, branches and units that are members of the Provincial Military Service Council proactively advise the Provincial People's Committee in directing and guiding military recruitment work in 2021; assessing political ethics standards, not allowing people who do not meet political standards to enter the Army and Police forces...

Congratulating Nghe An Department of Tourism, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung on behalf of the provincial leaders acknowledged and commended the achievements that Nghe An tourism industry has achieved in recent times.

According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with the 60-year development of Vietnam's tourism industry, Nghe An's tourism industry has 25 years of formation and development. Although the time is not long, Nghe An tourism has been on the map of Vietnam's tourism. The fact that Nghe An is among the very few localities that have established a Department of Tourism demonstrates its important role in the overall tourism industry of the country.

The sector has also advised the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on many contents to implement the Central Resolution to make tourism a spearhead economic sector. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that although the average annual growth of Nghe An's tourism industry is over 10%, revenue increases by approximately 18-20%, the number of tourists to Nghe An is still modest, especially foreign tourists.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the tourism sector should develop a development strategy for the sector until 2030, with a vision to 2045 and 2050, and integrate it into the province's general development plan, and include it in the Resolution of the 19th Party Congress. From there, there will be a plan for implementation in the coming period, soon becoming a key economic sector, contributing to the overall economic growth of the province.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, provincial leaders, representatives of the Provincial Youth Union and local authorities attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Hoa Ly Kindergarten. The Youth Union called for support for this project with a total cost of more than 230 million VND. The youth volunteer force also immediately started building a volleyball court in Hoa Ly village with a cost of 20 million VND. The Provincial Youth Union also coordinated to implement the project of Lighting up the streets in the center of My Ly commune with a cost of 20 million VND. The works and tasks of Nghe An youth on the 2020 summer volunteer launching day have a total value of over 400 million VND...

In the first 6 months of 2020, despite the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the city's economy continued to grow with an estimated added value of nearly VND 9,340 billion, an increase of 2.65% over the same period. Budget revenue is estimated at more than VND 1,166 billion, reaching 56% of the provincial estimate and an increase of 18% over the same period. The city has also actively worked to lobby the Government to allow the implementation of ODA projects on priority infrastructure investment and urban development adapting to climate change.

The cultural and social fields are taken care of, especially with many solutions to maintain and stabilize teaching and learning in schools before and after implementing the policy of social distancing and isolation.
