(Baonghean.vn) - Famous seafood products of Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai... (Nghe An) are bustling during the Tet holiday season, prices are increasing continuously, people are excited to have more income.

After 2 weeks of fishing, fisherman Vu Van Cuong, Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, returned with 100 kg of dried squid and dozens of trays of fresh squid. Although the output was not large, the crew members were very excited because the last few trips of the year had higher prices than before, with each crew member earning an average of 5-6 million VND/trip.

“The price at the wharf for fresh squid is 150,000 VND/kg, while dried squid is sold at the same price of 900,000 VND/kg, a 20% increase compared to last month,” said fisherman Vu Van Cuong.

There are only a month and a half left until Tet, but the seafood market in Quynh Luu and Hoang Mai is already bustling. According to buyers, prices have fluctuated quite strongly as the upper market is concentrating on purchasing goods to sell during Tet.

Ms. Tran Thi Yen, owner of a seafood purchasing facility in Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, said: Her facility is storing about 1 ton of dried squid, 1.5 tons of mackerel, 3 tons of fresh squid and various types of fish. Currently, the prices of seafood are fluctuating and increasing by about 20-30% compared to last month. Now there are only a few more trips to sea before fishermen return home for Tet, so she is taking advantage of the opportunity to collect goods to supply the market.

Famous products such as grilled mackerel, sun-dried mackerel, dried squid, sun-dried squid, yellowstripe scad, redstripe scad, shrimp, dried anchovies, dried mussels, etc. are all products with very high consumption during Tet, 3-4 times higher than normal days. Besides seafood products, these days, fish sauce and shrimp paste production facilities in the district are also bustling during Tet. Starting from December, fish sauce production facilities in An Hoa, Quynh Tho, Son Hai, Quynh Ngoc, Tien Thuy communes, etc. are urgently making Tet products.

Mr. Tran Van Hung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Hai Commune (Quynh Luu) said: although the exploitation situation at the end of the year encountered many difficulties, the output was not high, but in return, the prices of seafood increased, so fishermen were also excited. In particular, in Son Hai, there is a specialty of dried squid with a distinctive sweet taste compared to other places, so it is very popular with customers. In about a month, when people prepare to shop for Tet, the consumption market will be even more prosperous.

Specifically, the current price of yellowstripe scad grade 1 is 190,000 VND/kg, fresh mackerel 230,000 VND/kg, grilled mackerel 330 - 350,000 VND/kg, pomfret 150,000 VND/kg, mantis shrimp 550,000 VND/kg, cuttlefish 750,000 VND/kg, dried squid, depending on the type, ranges from 450,000 - 1.8 million VND/kg./.
