Nghe An: Towards an event to honor organizations and individuals with many contributions to social security work

On the afternoon of December 29, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs jointly held a meeting to discuss the plan to organize a conference to summarize and honor collectives and individuals who have made many achievements in mobilizing and supporting social security programs in 2020 and launching the support for "Tet for the poor - Spring Tan Suu 2021".

In 2020, the province organized 5 programs and campaigns.social securitylarge, including the program "Tet for the poor - Spring Canh Ty 2020"; the program to support and improve housing for the poor; the fund for the poor; support for disease preventionCovid-19; support the people of Central Vietnam to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Although the economic conditions of the people and the production and business situation of enterprises in the province still face many difficulties, with the spirit of solidarity and joining hands for the poor, "no one is left behind", through the 5 programs and campaigns mentioned above, the whole province has mobilized more than 450 billion VND.

The program "Tet for the poor - Spring Canh Ty 2020" alone raised more than 74 billion VND, the highest ever. Or the program to support and improve housing for the poor, the whole province mobilized more than 110 billion VND and had more than 2,000 houses.Great Unitybuilt, equal to nearly 52% of the budget and 83% of the number of Great Solidarity houses built in the 5 years 2014 - 2019. The Fund for the Poor mobilized more than 45 billion VND.

Also through the 5 programs and campaigns mentioned above, at the provincial level, support was received from 284 agencies, units and businesses, with support levels from 5 million VND or more.

At the meeting, the meeting participants agreed on the policy that, in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic and the difficult budget of the province, the conference to summarize and honor social security work and launch support for "Tet for the poor - Spring Tan Suu 2021" needs to be concise and economical, but still ensure the honor and spread throughout society to take care of social security work.

Another issue is the need to develop specific criteria, on that basis, selecting organizations and individuals to be honored at this event truly creates consensus in society.

And the honoring of organizations and individuals will be carried out according to each program and campaign and is expected to honor businesses and philanthropists, not honor state agencies and units.

Along with that, to continue to create a widespread social concern for social security work in general and the program "Tet for the poor - Spring Tan Suu 2021", all levels and sectors need to pay attention to propaganda work before, during and after this event.
