Quy Chau District Police said that on the morning of May 19, the unit was coordinating with the Provincial Police and related units to organize a crime scene investigation. The victim's body was a 13-year-old female student residing in Chau Phong commune.

Mr. Vi Van Dung (Chief of Chau Phong Commune Police, Quy Chau District) said that on the night of May 11, Vi Thi Thanh (born in 2003), the second daughter of Vi Van Xuan (born in 1979) and Quang Thi Tam (born in 1980), left home saying she was going out with friends. Late that night, when they did not see their daughter return, Xuan and her husband thought she had slept over at a friend's house. However, the next day, they still did not see their daughter return, so the family immediately organized a search but still could not find her.

On the night of May 18, smelling a foul smell coming from the forest in Tong 2 village, Chau Phong commune, some people used lights to search and discovered Thanh's body in the process of decomposition. The victim died lying on her back. The victim was wearing a shirt and skirt...

A source said it was highly likely the victim was murdered because an autopsy found a rope near his neck.

However, Colonel Ha confirmed that a young man residing in Quy Chau district suspected of being involved in the victim's death was questioned by the investigation agency to assist in the investigation.
