Nghe An organizes conference on orientation for specialized medical development
Through the conference, Nghe An province will develop a project to develop the healthcare system in Vinh city to become the core of a specialized medical center in the North Central region.

Morning of October 18, in Vinh city,Nghe An Department of Healthheld the opening ceremony of the Conference on orientation for the development of specialized healthcare in Vinh city. This is an important conference, through which the Nghe An Department of Health has a scientific and practical basis to advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop the Project "Developing the healthcare system in Vinh city to become the core of the specialized healthcare center in the North Central region, period 2025-2030" to submit to the Government in 2025, in accordance with the direction of Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW dated July 18, 2023 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Attending the conference, on the side of the Ministry of Health, there were Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc - Deputy Minister of Health; Dr. Duong Huy Luong - Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management.
On the side of the Central hospitals, there were: Professor, Doctor Pham Nhu Hiep - Director of Hue Central Hospital; Doctor, Doctor Duong Duc Hung - Director of Viet Duc Hospital; Professor, Doctor Le Van Quang - Director of the Central K Hospital; Associate Professor, Doctor Tran Minh Dien - Director of the Central Children's Hospital; Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Ha Thanh - Director of the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion; Professor, Doctor Pham Manh Hung - Director of the National Heart Institute, Bach Mai Hospital... Clearly define the direction of specialized medical development
Opening the conference, Dr. Nguyen Huu Le - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health stated: Nghe An is a province with a large population and large area, currently the whole sector has 460 commune-level health units; 28 district-level units; 20 provincial-level units and 18 non-public hospitals with more than 20,000 medical staff.
In recent years, despite many difficulties and challenges; but with the attention and close direction of the Ministry of Health, the leaders of Nghe An province, the support of other units, the coordination between departments, branches, local authorities, Nghe An Health sector has achieved important results, contributing to the good implementation of the work of caring for and protecting people's health and the socio-economic development of the province.

Notably, the quality of medical examination and treatment has been improved from the provincial level to the grassroots level. The spirit and service attitude of medical staff have changed significantly. The rate of people's satisfaction with medical services has been increasingly improved. Many new and specialized techniques have been effectively implemented such as: Application of molecular biology techniques in diagnosing fetal abnormalities, genetic diseases, cancer, open heart surgery, organ transplantation, reproductive support...
In particular, the successful kidney and liver transplants from brain-dead donors at Nghe An General Hospital have opened up great hope for patients, and at the same time, this is a new opportunity in the development of specialized medicine.

Substantive, effective, serving the people
Speaking at the conference on orientation for specialized medical development in Vinh city, Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc - Deputy Minister of Health praised and highly appreciated the results that Nghe An health sector has achieved in protecting, caring for and improving people's health.

To develop the health system in Vinh city to become the core of the North Central Regional Specialized Medical Center, the Deputy Minister of Health noted: Nghe An Health Sector needs to continue to imbue the viewpoint of putting people's health and lives first; work must be substantive, effective, serving the people; fully perform the assigned tasks in Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW dated July 18, 2023 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
In addition to investing in developing specialized medical techniques, the health sector needs to pay attention to developing the capacity of the grassroots health system and preventive medicine; pay attention to income, regimes, and treatment policies for health workers, especially grassroots health workers; pay attention to developing digital health and green health, and protecting the environment.

Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc suggested: Units under the Ministry of Health should proactively advise and propose to the Ministry of Health solutions to support medical work and develop grassroots health care in Nghe An province. Central hospitals, end-line hospitals; medical and pharmaceutical universities; Departments of Health of Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Hanoi... need to strengthen coordination with Nghe An province in training, technology transfer, regularly open training courses, and foster specialists at units under the health sector or practice facilities of schools in Nghe An province.

Nghe An Provincial Department of Health continues to review and synthesize shortcomings, difficulties and obstacles in implementing medical work in the area; proactively coordinate with departments and bureaus under the Ministry to advise and propose to the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Health to direct the implementation of solutions to remove obstacles, gradually improving the quality of medical work in the province.
At the conference, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc presented the decision of the Ministry of Health assigning the task of the final line of technical expertise in medical examination and treatment in the North Central region to Nghe An Oncology Hospital; presented the decision of the Ministry of Health on recognizing Nghe An General Friendship Hospital as qualified to perform the technique of taking and transplanting livers from living donors and brain-dead donors.

The conference on orientation for specialized medical development in Vinh city took place over 2 days, October 17-18. The conference included 1 plenary session and 6 thematic sessions. Within the framework of this conference, leading scientists and experts from across the country presented 36 scientific reports focusing on specialized techniques that have been successfully deployed by hospitals in the past; at the same time, orienting specialized techniques that need to be focused on along with necessary conditions, suitable to the reality of Nghe An, for implementation in the near future./.
