Nghe An thanks doctors and nurses who returned from supporting Binh Duong in the fight against the epidemic

On the afternoon of October 9, Nghe An Department of Health held a meeting with the delegation of medical staff and doctors who completed the reinforcement of Covid-19 prevention and control for the southern provinces to fight the epidemic. Attending the meeting were comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; members of the Provincial Party Committee: Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health; Kha Van Tam - Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation.

The meeting took place when the delegation had just finished 7 days of centralized quarantine, preparing to reunite with their families. Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh said that during this 4th wave of the epidemic, Nghe An province mobilized 251 medical staff and doctors to support the southern provinces in fighting the epidemic. This is the second delegation of medical staff and doctors from Nghe An to complete the mission of supporting the epidemic center in the South.

Currently, Nghe An still has more than 100 doctors and nurses supporting the southern provinces in fighting the pandemic. This support team consists of 60 doctors and nurses from 20 medical facilities, of which Vinh Medical University has the largest number with 19 people. The team departed on July 28, assigned to treat Covid-19 patients at Field Hospital No. 4, Bau Bang District, Binh Duong Province. This field hospital has a scale of 3,000 beds, Nghe An team is assigned to be in charge of half, with a number of 1,500 beds. The team's area of ​​responsibility is the 2nd and 3rd floors of the 3-storey tower model for treating Covid-19 patients, that is, severe and critical patients. During 65 days at Field Hospital No. 4, Nghe An team treated nearly 10,000 Covid-19 patients.

At the meeting, comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh praised and acknowledged the sacrifices and contributions of the medical staff in general and the 60 members of the delegation in particular. "The 65 days in the epicenter were truly fierce, no words can fully describe the hardships and sacrifices of the comrades. I know that most of the members of the delegation already have families. Having to be away from their young children, old parents, and weak parents, regardless of sunny or rainy days, the brothers and sisters wear protective gear, always by the patient's side, sometimes not having enough time to eat, not being able to sleep well...", comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh emotionally said, at the same time sending gratitude to not only the medical staff but also the leaders of medical facilities and families who created conditions for the members of the delegation to feel secure on the front line.

On this occasion, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province awarded 120 million VND to the delegation as encouragement. In addition, the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation also awarded 60 million VND to 60 members of the delegation; the Health Sector Trade Union awarded each member a health insurance card...
