The two female students honored this time are Ngo Thi Khanh Huyen and Nguyen Thi Hoai (both students of Nghe An University of Economics).
Previously, at around 4:30 p.m. on October 30, 2016, Ngo Thi Khanh Huyen and Nguyen Thi Hoai were on their way home from school when passing Ha Huy Tap Street, Vinh City when two young men on a motorbike approached them, snatched their wallet containing 7 million VND, and then sped away.
Faced with the recklessness of the subject, Huyen and Hoai sped after him on their motorbike. When they caught up, they kicked the subject's motorbike, causing him to fall onto the road. At the same time, they called for help from the people. Afterwards, the two subjects were arrested and their property was confiscated. Huyen and Hoai only suffered minor injuries.
At the commendation ceremony, representatives of the Department of Building the People's Movement to Protect National Security and the leaders of the University of Economics awarded certificates of merit to two students for their bravery and intelligence in chasing and catching robbers.
